Dispatch Tapes Released: Kansas City Police Officer Fatal Shooting of Off-Duty Firefighter

KSHB in Kansas City has obtained the 911 and dispatch recordings from a November incident that claimed the life of an off-duty Kansas City firefighter. Anthony Bruno, a six-year-veteran from a fire service family, was out celebrating his wedding when police said he got into an argument with a taxi driver. An off-duty police officer working security nearby responded to the call, getting into an altercation with Bruno. The officer was injured, Bruno was fatally shot. Police said the officer feared for his life when attacked by Bruno.
