Stafford, Virginia firefighters faced a situation many of us fear when responding — striking another vehicle or pedestrian. While responding to a reported vehicle accident on Interstate 95 on Friday night, the unit from Stafford County struck and killed a pedestrian on Warrenton Road, local media reported.
The early investigation suggests the pedestrian was not in a crosswalk and the fire truck did all it could to avoid hitting him, but was unable to evade him on a darkened stretch of the six-lane road, a spokesman for the Sheriff’s Office told The Fredericksburg Free Lance-Star.
Neither the identify of the victim or driver were released. The investigation is ongoing.
