Jan. 15 — A Deltona firefighter is facing four rape-related charges after another woman came forward this week to accuse him of attacking her at his home, the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office said. An additional four cases involving similar allegations are being investigated, deputies said.
The Orange City woman in the latest case contacted the Sheriff’s Office Monday. She told investigators she met Freeman at a college class. When she went to his house to study, he grabbed her by the hair, pushed her onto a bed and tried to attack her, deputies said.
Freeman, 32, was rearrested in the Volusia County Branch Jail Tuesday on charges of attempted sexual battery and false imprisonment. He already was jailed on three charges of sexual battery, including one with a deadly weapon.
Freeman was first arrested Dec. 31 after an Altamonte Springs woman accused him of sexually assaulting her on a date Dec. 27. More women came forward after news reports of the arrest, and deputies rearrested Freeman last Thursday in two more date-rape cases.
Orange City police also took a similar complaint against Freeman and forwarded their investigation to the State Attorney’s Office, deputies said.
