A volunteer firefighter with the Township of Tiny (Ontario, Canada) was seriously injured Saturday evening when he fell from a float during a town’s annual Santa Claus parade, The Toronto Star reported.
The firefighter, not identified, was transported initially to a local hospital and later transferred to a hospital in Toronto. CTV reports the department expects him to fully recover.
According to its web site, the Township of Tiny Fire Department operates out of five stations with 93 volunteers, including 71 active firefighters. The department responds to about 300 emergency calls annually.
